Detailed Master Class Descriptions
Alan Fraser New York Piano Sessions (‘Installment Plan’)
Take advantage of this rare opportunity to work with Alan Fraser in several sessions each separated by a ‘gestating period’ in which you can integrate the rich, new body of information experience you’ll receive. Sessions will be at the piano, on the Feldenkrais table, or combined, according to your individual needs.
Lesson slots are available June 3-4, June 11-15, June 27-29, and Aug 31-Sept 4.
and will take place at the The Chelsea Piano/Feldenkrais Studios, West 26th Street.
Lessons are “60 minutes plus” in length, fees as follows:
$140 for 1 session
$275 for 2 sessions
$400 for 3 sessions

Alan Fraser will be presenting at the Minnesota Music Teachers’ Association Annual Convention June 6. He will stay on to do a few days’ private teaching at the home of Prof. Katherine Faricy. Please contact Milosh Yankovitch for more information.

Smith College is hosting the First Alan Fraser Summer Piano Institute which features Alan Fraser alone. Individual, handcrafted lessons will be augmented with Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons as well as lectures on specific aspects of technique taken from The Craft of Piano Playing and Honing the Pianistic Self-Image. It’s the ideal opportunity for you to clear up questions you have about Alan Fraser’s writings, and to finally create that transformation in your piano technique you’ve been dreaming about for years. Fraser will be teaching at his old alma mater, now known as McGill’s Shulich School of Music over the long weekend. It’s a nice chance to combine work with the master and listening to some of the masters of Jazz – the International Jazz Festival hits town the same weekend.

And when he heads east to summer in the Maritimes he will drop in at the Conservatoire de Musique du Quebec for a couple of days teaching en route.

Alan Fraser gave a master class and recital at Acadia last winter, and was immediately invited back to teach in the summer camps. This camp session is totally devoted to Alan Fraser’s teaching and the ideas of Craft of Piano Method. An all-day public master class is planned at a local piano store for Saturday the 10th. Private sessions on the 11th. A presentation to the students of the Florida State University College of Music at Pensacola on Monday the 12th.
